So the fact that your host is a dinosaur and you don't know how to run the FPA is Joomla's fault. Bye Bye.
That's a strange conclusion to arrive at given the facts.
I wasn't aware of FPA until I was advised to check the link out. After reading that article, it's very easy to run FPA. However, I encountered a problem which meant it wouldn't run. It was suggested that my host's settings may be causing this, but they say it's nothing to do with their settings. They certainly are not dinosaurs and are the best host I've ever used. When I wanted to upgrade to J5 and my server had an incompatible version of MariaDB, they moved me to a server with the latest version.
My decision to move away from Joomla is based mainly in the huge amount of my time taken to get around problems such as I have described on this forum. Even if FPA had worked for me, having seen some example outputs on this forum, they mean nothing to me on most cases so I would have to post the output and rely on the experts. I have used Joomla for 10 years and initially it was a steep learning curve. Trouble is, after every upgrade it's still a steep learning curve, and I want to spend my time creating websites, not fixing things that don't work with the CMS. I think that's perfectly reasonable. Joomla is (I have read) losing popularity and I can certainly see why.
