Hi webdongle,
I did do that to get the database for extensions in the right format so I could move several large tables to the new site. But as an updated Joomla 4 site, it had the same issues it had accumulated since Joomla 1.5. One of them, which far better people than me could never find, was its determination to add the folder "Contact/" to every new or changed menu item. There were several others. It worked better to have a clean site, and I'm happy with that decision.
